§ I · What a cookie is, in one sentence
A cookie is a small piece of text a website stores in your browser so it can remember something between visits — for example, that you have already chosen whether to allow analytics.
§ II · What this site stores
Two categories. The first is strictly necessary — it records your cookie choice itself. The second is optional and denied by default.
| Category | Purpose | Provider | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary. Your cookie preference. | Stores whether you accepted or rejected analytics so we do not ask again. | castrarisk.ai (first-party) | 12 months |
| Analytics. Page measurement. | Counts visits and reads aggregate page popularity. IP addresses are anonymised. No advertising identifiers. | Google Analytics 4 · G-1PYVXKVY88 | 14 months |
§ III · What this site does not do
No third-party advertising cookies. No retargeting pixels. No social-network tracking pixels. No cross-site identifiers. No fingerprinting. We do not sell visitor data, do not share it with data brokers, and do not use it to build profiles of individuals.
§ IV · Consent posture
The site implements Google Consent Mode v2 with default-denied state. Analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization are all set to denied on first load. The analytics library is loaded immediately but, with consent denied, sends only a cookieless ping the analytics product itself does not retain at the visitor level.
When you click Accept, we update analytics_storage to granted. The other three remain denied permanently — this site has no use for them.

Reopen consent banner§ V · Region notes
Castra applies the same default-denied posture in every region. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland receive the banner under GDPR and the ePrivacy framework; visitors in California receive the same banner under the CCPA and its successor instruments. Visitors in other jurisdictions are shown the same banner because we do not believe a different default is defensible.
§ VI · Browser-side controls
Independent of this banner, most modern browsers let you block all third-party cookies or all cookies for a specific site. Doing so will not break this site. aboutcookies.org and the help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge describe how.
§ VII · Changes to this notice
If we add or remove a cookie category, the date at the top of this page is updated and visitors are re-prompted. We do not silently widen consent.
