Jurisdictions · Where Castra binds

A live registry, updated quarterly.

Castra Risk binds coverage in the United States as a surplus-lines MGA, with admitted authority filed for the Model Performance Warranty line by state. Internationally, EEA and UK placements are written via fronting and correspondent capacity while the firm's own regulatory build proceeds. This page is the operative registry.

Authority is verified before bind on every placement. Where this page and a specific filing differ — for example, a state moves from pending to active mid-quarter — the filing controls. Brokers should confirm at submission. The registry is updated on the first business day of each quarter.

Surplus lines and diligent-search

Castra binds in the United States primarily on a surplus-lines basis. Where the producing state requires a diligent-search affidavit before surplus binding, the broker is responsible for the filing under the state's standard form. Castra will not bind without confirmation. Some states — CA, NY, IL among them — permit binding without diligent-search where the line is recognised as ineligible for the admitted market; we rely on each state's current list.

Model Performance Warranty admitted filing

Model Warranty is a first-party line that has been filed for admitted status in several states. Admitted filings are state-by-state; the registry table marks each state's progress. Where admitted filing is incomplete, the line is bound on a surplus basis under the same form, subject to the state's surplus-lines rules.

EU AI Act, Colorado AI Act, and the state AI regimes

The Regulatory Defense line is available in any jurisdiction where Castra is otherwise authorised. Coverage attaches to defense and investigation cost of inquiries originating in the listed regimes; insurability of statutory penalties is determined by the law of the seat of the proceeding, not the insured's domicile. See the Regulatory Defense form for the operative schedule.

Defense and dual-use

Defense and dual-use placements are subject to U.S. export control rules including ITAR and the EAR. Foreign-owned or foreign-controlled entities require additional review and may be excluded from certain placements. Permitted-use only; sovereign coverage is offered through a separate facility on referral.

Authority confirmation

Before bind, Castra confirms current producer authority and any state-specific endorsements required at the line of business. A pre-bind authority confirmation is included with every quote. Brokers should not assume the registry alone is sufficient evidence of bindability; the operative confirmation is the quote.
