Castra Risk Underwriters LLC is a specialty managing general agent incorporated in Delaware in MMXXVI. The firm was capitalised by specialty insurance investors and led by operators who deployed autonomous systems and AI agents into regulated production environments before they had a market name.
The name is borrowed. Castra is the Roman fortified camp — the disciplined infrastructure built ahead of an advance, sized to last, surveyed and laid out before a single tent was pitched. The legions did not improvise the camp. Neither do we.
The discipline is old. The risk is new.

Castra is in the regulatory build that precedes any specialty placement at scale. Principal underwriters, the advisory board, and the slate of capacity counterparties will be named in the third quarter, alongside the publication of the first treaty disclosures.
